Here’s what Kathy said about planning the party- “This year for my daughter’s fifth birthday party, I decided to celebrate her love for animals and throw her a safari animal party. Everything was DIY. For the invitations I found a zebra and a giraffe card in Michael’s Store from National Geographic and I used that as inspiration for the colors and themed, I used the front of the card and made the invitations with burlap, also I used burlap to decorate the mason jars cups. The animals on the centerpieces logs are from Target and the small ones that I put in the party favor plastic bags are from Party City. My husband helped me to cut the logs for the centerpieces, the cake stand and the drink stand. The chocolate cake was made by my mom and also the table cloth for the dessert table, she made it with burlap. The happy birthday, explore, and safari signs are made with burlap and the letters are painted with a stencil. I sewed the giraffe and the zebra fabric bags and transferred the animals that I printed in my home printer, I printed the animals in a fabric transfer paper with a technique that I found on the Internet, very easy!! The binoculars are made with toilet paper rolls, very cheap, I just glued them together and painted them with a black spray paint and the final touch was the zebra duck tape. I found the safari hats at Amazon.com, also very cheap. My cousin Claudia from Guatemala made this beautiful animal masks, she is very talented, the kids loved them!! After everyone had their gear they were ready for an adventure. The kids headed off on a Safari Adventure looking for plastic animals that had been hidden around the woods. My friends Jaime and Eric Cho helped me to entertained the kids with fun games and activities, the kids were very excited!! National Geographic has a lot of activities for an animal or safari themed!! Elizabeth had a great time with her friends and family, also because her grandparents were here visiting from Guatemala!! Definitely she is going to remember her 5th Birthday Party!!”

I just love this GIRLY TRAIN THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Stephanie Campagna of Celebrations and Sweet Creations! What a cute idea- who says you can’t have a “girly” themed train party!
Stephanie said- “My daughter, Brooke is obsessed with choo choo trains lately and I thought that her 2nd birthday should reflect what she’s most interested in at the moment. So naturally, I scoured the internet for some fun things to incorporate for her party and I found some really great ideas out there!
I didn’t have a huge celebration for her again this year. Just a few of her close friends and family. I figured next year I could do something a little more fun for her when she actually understands what’s going on. I’m hoping I can figure out something just as cool as this year’s party!”

This amazing GIRLY CIRCUS BIRTHDAY PARTY EXTRAVAGANZA submitted by Donna Baxman of Monkey Moo Moo Parties will blow you away! I am dying at how over-the-top cute this party is!!
Donna said–“My Daughter was turning 4 and I wanted to throw her a circus party that was girlie, beautiful and different. So we called it “Autumn’s Extravaganza” So My business partner Kim and I got busy:):) First thing– We knew we wanted the party under the Big Top. So we got a beautiful tent and got to work:) I had just seen the movie Water for Elephants– and so I was very inspired to find an elephant(clip art) the had the feeling of vintage–not cutesy. Which I then created the invites and had asked my amazing business partner Kim to paint the elephant on an oversized canvas as the focus point for the dessert table. I took some photos of my daughter and used them for the invite and then had a couple enlarged and hung them in spray painted frames. We wanted the painting of the elephant and the 2 pictures to be the main focus of the party. We wanted everything to be a little taller then normal–so Kim made 2 tall cakes and we had very tall candles on one of them and made an elephant and giraffe to top off the other cake. The pixy sticks were extra tall and we had cupcakes, animal crackers, cotton candy, corn dogs, circus pasta, and of course peanuts. The kids all received fun feather mask, huge sunglasses, batons that lite up, batons that had twirl ribbon, hula hoops, and jump ropes (most items were purchase at the dollar store). They played musical chairs and had a parade.”
